4th of July

We had a great 4th of July.

We started our day off with breakfast at Grandma's and then we
started our own bike parade.  I grew up with a bike parade in my
neighborhood and I think it was one of my favorite memories.  So
I asked everyone if they would like to start a new tradition.  It is always
so much fun decorating your bikes (or scooters).  Grandma's friends and
neighbors even joined us.  We only went up the street and back but it
was still great.

       Yummy pancakes.  Thanks Grandma!

Then it is off to the lake.  We had more food to eat
it was great.  I really like to eat.  It was a beautiful day
with lots of friends and family.  Lots of sun, wakeboarding
and tubing.  Sadie actually went off the rope swing for
the first time this year.  I was really proud of her.  I
didn't get a picture so I am waiting for one to be sent
to me.

Jaxon loves to jump off the dock

Ruby loved floating in the water.  Although, it really
worried max.  He kept trying to push her back on to the
shore.  We realized he has quite a phobia of things floating
away.  He was quite certain that the paddle boat was going
to float away every time the waves would come up. He would
start crying and run to the boat and try to push it up onto the
shore.  When some of the kids were floating in a big tube he
freaked out if someone wasn't holding on to it.  I really felt
bad for him.

He had a great time swimming though.

The kids hanging out on the weiner tube.

Watching the fireworks at Emily and Aaron's.  It was the
perfect spot with no crowds or traffic.

The kids also had fun with sparklers

and glow sticks.

That looks like a blast (no cheesy 4th of July pun intended...). Jonny got to march in the parade here in Monterey. Guess who was late and totally missed him. Yep, me. I hear I'm up for "Wife of the Year" award.
