Breckenridge

So After like 2 weeks of sick kids, including poor little Ruby with pneumonia and breathing treatments every few hours, and a sick mom, we got to take a little mini vacation up to our family's mountain house.  We love going up there and always have such a great time.  We left thursday morning trying to beat the bad weather and roads.  By the time we got to Breckenridge it had started snowing and the wind started blowing.  We had been hoping to ski half  of a day with Jaxon, but that was definitely not going to happen.  That night we got like a foot of snow and the wind was blowing so hard that the power went out for several hours.  So of course all the kids wanted to be in mom and dads bed.  We made it through the night and the next morning the roads were so bad that they closed the highway.
We couldn't even go 15 miles to the ski resort.  After a few hours I was able to get Sadie and Cory to the ski resort so that they could ski.  We still decided not to take Jaxon.  With this being his first time.  Sadie and Cory had a great, cold, day of skiing.  Cory said that not one run had been groomed.  It was all powder and of course no one was there because the highways were closed.  Later that day our friends did make it up to spend the weekend with us and Cory's sister and her family came up, and then one of Cory's cousins and his family came up so we had a full house, but that just makes it more fun.  Saturday was the beautiful day.  We had decided not to ski that day so that we could hang out with our friends.  Instead we went shopping at the outlets and played in the driveway.  Which sounds crazy, but Jaxon got his first skiing experience and the sledding is perfect for the kids.  They all had so much fun.  After all the cold fun then they all make a mad dash for the hot tub and then hot chocolate.  We had a great weekend.
