Battle of the Books, IB Induction, Honors Chorus

Next year when Sadie attends Middle School she
will be in a program called International Bacclaureate
Middle years. She had to apply for this, have a special interview,
and reference letter.  This is a  program that she can continue in
throughout high school if she so wishes.  It is a great program that
I am sure will help her throughout life.  They had a special
induction night for all of the new students.  Just about half
of her soccer team happens to be in this program which is
really nice.

Sadie's Music teacher invited her to be part of a special
Honors Chorus this year.  All of the elementary schools
from the district selected children and they put on a concert
at a local HS.

Sadie participated in Battle of the Books this year.
She loved it.  The group of kids met every other week
in the library and were given a list of 10 books that
they were supposed to read and then they "battled".
They were put into teams and answered questions
about the books, received points and teams won or
lost.  Sadie LOVES to read so she loved this.  She was
also a library assistant this year and loved that.  She
had a great relationship with the librarian and would
always come home with suggested books to read.

discussing with her team an answer
