We have a birds nest! This is actually
the second year for this to happen. The
first year the nest was in my wreath on the
front door. This year, my light. This year it was
much harder to spy on what was going on in the
nest, because it was so high up. I also am kind
of paranoid. I never wanted to upset the parents
too much. One of my favorite things to do though,
was to watch the parents. They would sit in the
tree in our front door to watch the nest. One of them
was always there. Last year was very satisfying, as we
watched the birds hatch and get bigger and fly away.
This year not so much. I did see two baby birds in the
nest, but the next thing I knew the mommy bird was
dead in the nest. She must have fallen in between the
nest and the lamp post and got stuck and couldn't get
out. And I don't know what happened to the babies.
There is also one egg left so I am thinking that that egg just
wasn't going to hatch. Since the other eggs did. I don't know
it makes me want to study birds a little more.

how depressing.
We have a nest in our carport - your mean brother wants to knock it down. I was so surprised since he is such an animal lover! He has agreed to wait until the babies hatch and leave the nest...
