I have been wanting to dedicate a post to my niece Emma, who is Jonny's little girl. Emma has Diabetes. She was diagnosed just over a
year ago, at the age of 4. Her mom Amanda, was already in the hospital having just given birth to her sister, Sohie. Mathew in the middle was 2. I can't even imagine how Jonny and Amanda dealt with all of this happening at once. Have I mentioned that Jonny is in the Military? Only 6 short weeks later he had to leave on assignment.

Sweet Emma is the one on the far right. She and Max both started Kindergarten this year. She is the sweetest little girl. She loves to dress up and dance around. She is such a princess!! She also has the most vivid imagination, and says the funniest things!!
We were able to all get together last summer in Breckenridge.
The last time we were in Utah, she kept posing for me to take her picture.
Jonny left in June to go to Iraq for a year.
Obviously this will be a difficult time for their family. Despite being on their own, Emma and her mom have decided to participate
in a Walk to cure Diabetes. They attended a luncheon kick-off, and Emma was thrilled to be around other kids who have Diabetes like she does. It has lifted her spirits tremendously. They
have a goal of raising $200.00 by Sept. 25 and I
want to help them. If you visit their BLOG you
can read even more about Emma and her daily
struggles. I urge you to do this. I guarantee you will be inspired and motivated by Emma's bravery and Amanda's dedication. Thanks!!!
